10 Days til the VT Youth Climate Congress

In ten days, on Sunday, November 17, young people from across the state will assemble in the State House for the Vermont Youth Climate Congress.

Delegates representing dozens of schools will draft, debate, and ratify a unified message from young Vermonters declaring that policymakers must do more to protect their future.

Want to help? Here are five thing you can do:

1. Spread the word by email. While dozens of schools are currently involved, there is room for more. Share the Vermont Youth Climate Congress website with the students, teachers and school administrators in your life.
2. Spread the word on social media. LIKE and SHARE the following social media:
   • Facebook
   • Twitter
   • Instagram
3. Volunteer. The students need help with registration, credentials, and taking minutes. If you can volunteer your afternoon to the youth climate movement, contact Kate Lapp (klapp@vpirg.org) for an assignment and training.
4. Donate. The meeting is in the people’s house and expenses are low, but there are costs such as building security, printing, publicity, and pizza. If you can chip in a few dollars or even a few hundred it would go a long way to making the day a success. VPIRG is serving as the fiscal agent for the students and you can contribute here.
5. Attend! Want to see democracy in action? Come to the State House from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Nov. 17 and support the students from the House gallery.

The climate movement is building momentum every day, around the world and here in Vermont. Students are doing their part. Thank you for playing a key role!
