- “Just 10% Of Fossil Fuel Subsidy Cash ‘Could Pay For Green Transition'” • Fossil fuels get over $370 billion (£305 billion) a year in support, while renewables get only $100 billion, a report from the International Institute for Sustainable Development found. - “German Utilities Firm RWE To Close Its Last UK Coal Plant In 2020” • The German utility giant RWE will close its last UK coal plant after the coming winter, leaving only four remaining coal plants in Britain.The Aberthaw B power station in south Wales will close at the end of March 2020, after generating electricity from coal for half a century.
