- “Ontario’s provincial power company buys US renewable energy firm for $388 Million” • Ontario’s government-owned power company is making its first foray outside the province. It made a deal to buy Eagle Creek Renewable Energy, based in New Jersey, for $388 million. Eagle Creek’s 63 small hydropower facilities have a total 216 MW of capacity. [National Observer]
- “States give conditional support to National Energy Guarantee, but more talks to come” • Australia’s government is a step closer to settling a national policy on electricity and emissions. The Federal Government released a draft of the energy bill and the states will now wait to see what happens in Coalition party discusses of the policy next week. [ABC News]
