Residence of Meier and Connors will showcase their geothermal installation.
Becky Meier and Bob Connors will be giving a virtual tour of their house in Canaan, NY on Wednesday, December 6 from 7- 8 PM. They will be doing this “live” via Facebook.
The purpose is to introduce the community to their new geothermal heating and air conditioning system. Their system was installed by NY-based Aztech Geothermal via Dandelion Energy earlier this fall. Dandelion Energy is a Google “spin off” and was just named one of the “hot” NYC-based start ups by Business Insider.
With Google/Dandelions’ involvement, their installed price (investment vs.cost) dropped from $35,00 to $20,000 with the same work and the same installer. This includes air conditioning, better air filters, a dehumidifier and a humidifier, a new hot water tank, plus no fuel smell. Payback for them (return on investment) is seven to nine years (even with paying app. 50% more for electricity). Remember that continuing to use fossil fuels for heating and air conditioning means that one NEVER gets paid back.
