- According to a newly published US Solar Market Insight Report from Greentech Media and the Solar Energy Industries Association, the US solar market added 2,044 MW of new capacity in the first quarter of 2017. - The British government appointed Claire Perry to be Minister at the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy. The appointment will be largely welcomed by renewable energy campaigners after her positive comments on the importance of the Paris agreement and the necessity of investing in clean energy.
