Stove Change-out Program to Improve Air Quality
Montpelier, Vermont – The Clean Energy Development Fund (CEDF) and the Agency of Natural Resources Division of Air Quality and Climate have teamed up to help Vermonters, that currently heat with wood, get new cleaner burning stoves installed.
The wood stove change-out program provides an incentive payment of up to $1,500 towards the price of a new cord wood or wood pellet stove if an old non EPA-certified wood stove (approximately pre-1988) is taken out of service.
Wood Stove Change-out Program Goals:
· Reduce emissions of wood smoke in Vermont
· Increase the use of cleaner wood and wood pellet burning stoves in Vermont
· Promote a sustainable and healthy VT forest economy
· Support VT wood and pellet stove manufacturers and dealers

The program will operate on a first come, first-served bases until the $225,000 allocated to the program is fully reserved. Additional funding may be available from ANR or the CEDF if the program is successful.
